On February 20, the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg invites you to a Spatial Audio Listening Session in its film mixing stage. Historical and contemporary formats will be listened to, compared, and discussed – curated by Leon Sudahl. Registration required.

We are trying out a new version of SALS, called Focus SALS. In this format, we listen to entire radio plays or albums, immersive ones of course, in a cosy atmosphere and with pleasant conversation.

On the agenda for the first session: Blocked Underground. An immersive radio play from BR.

SALS goes Duesseldorf - Spatial Audio Listening ­Session

In cooperation with the University of the Arts Bremen (HfK), the VDT's Young Talent & New Members Department, and the AES Student Section Hamburg, the VDT invites you to the next edition of SALS on September 19 at 15:45 p.m. at the HfK Bremen.

Dieses zweistündige Format bietet mehrkanalige Audioproduktionen verschiedener Formate und Genres, kuratiert und moderiert. Bei einem Kaltgetränk ist es gewünscht, sich zwischen den Stücken über das Gehörte in der Runde auszutauschen. Im Nachgang besteht die Möglichkeit zum offenen Austausch.

Eine herzliche Einladung an alle zur ersten Spatial Audio Listening Session (SALS) in Leipzig!

This time, we'll go back to the topic of Quadraphonics, but we'll take the time to listen to two complete works. As always, there will be a short break in between.

The SALS returns with a session about 3D microphone recording techniques. Based upon Hyunkook Lee's 3D-MARCo research, we will listen to different microphone array recordings and discuss them over a cold drink.

On January 10, starting at 4 pm, we invite you to the Spatial Audio Listening Session (SALS). On this date, we will delve deeper into the topic of Ambisonics. The immersive sound format, which has existed since the 1970s, has been enjoying steadily growing interest ever since.
