in cooperation with the AES Student Section Hamburg, we invite you to the Spatial Audio Listening Session (SALS) on January 10th from 4 pm onwards. We will meet in a cozy atmosphere in the Immersive Audio Lab on the third floor in (building B) Finkenau 35 to listen to spatial audio pieces and discuss them over a cold drink.

Numerous formats can be played back via the Immersive Audio Lab's more than 30 loudspeakers, from quadraphonic pieces to 5.1 Dolby Surround and Dolby Atmos to Ambisonics 7th Order.

On this date, we will delve deeper into the topic of Ambisonics. The immersive sound format, which has existed since the 1970s, has been enjoying steadily growing interest ever since. Since the release of the free IEM Plugin Suite 2018, the topic has become a hot topic and is no longer reserved for professionals. In our session, we will listen to Ambisonics pieces of various orders and scratch the surface of the theory.

Participation is only possible by registering at this email , as we can only offer 15 places. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for further discussion in a small group.
