The Regional Group Cologne and all interested parties meet for the summer special

The Regional Group Cologne and all interested parties meet for the summer special. Participation only after registration.

Dear colleagues,

I would like to invite you to our summer special on Friday 15 August from 15:00 at THS Studio, Rosenweg 22, 41542 Dormagen.

It will be a kind of mini ‘Mischen-Impossible’ breakout session. This time we will be guests of one of the original fathers of the well-known Mischen Impossible events in Bezau, Holger Siedler. At his home, in his studio and - weather permitting - in the garden. And that's not all. His former OB van will also be on site. And much more besides. Here is an excerpt from the programme that Holger has come up with for us:

a. brief introduction to each other ‘who's who’
b. THS welcome tour - tour of the basement studio, vinyl mastering, service workshop and the Folkwang University OB van on the doorstep
c. Nikolas Geschwill, jazz musician and percussionist, presents his gong project including recording technology
d. At 16:30 we go together to the church of St Odilia (5min walk) and at 17:00 we record 30min of Nikolas' performance as a gong concert (1) with the audience, our participants and 6 cameras (HD cams). (Sound: 8 - channel with Zoom field recorder). The colleagues are welcome to operate one or the other video cam (hands on). All participants will receive the recorded material mastered (Dolby Atmos) and in individual tracks for experimentation. Then we'll go back to our place - the barbecue is waiting and we're sure to have plenty of 19-inch conversations
e. During the evening, small talk in the garden and listening tests in the basement studio.

Everyone is welcome to bring their own material to try out regarding "analogue mastering". Preferably on USB stick.

f. Parallel to the above points, the OB van will be presented with a 5.1 jazz production (analogue mix on the Tascam M 700) with the special control room acoustics.
This also in the mastering studio with the Altec loudspeakers and the CONEQ system.

A round of chilled drinks and sausages will be provided by the VDT (Cologne regional group), salads will be provided by Holger and his wife.

As space is limited by nature, only a maximum of 20 people can attend. Whoever registers first is in. I will then notify everyone who can attend.
Therefore, please register bindingly by e-mail to me by 8.8.25:

Many thanks to Holger at this point and best wishes
Christoph

(1): The concert promises an avant-garde sound experience in which the powerful and deep
vibrations of the gongs create a meditative yet intense atmosphere. Nikolas
Geschwill is known for his experimental and impressive soundscapes, which
take the audience on a special acoustic journey. The warm and supportive
acoustics of St. Odilia contribute to a sound dialogue between instrument - performer -
spatial reflection and listener.
The recording team would particularly like to thank Pastor Koltermann and the
church council for allowing this performance to take place in St Odilia
