The Eighth International Student 3D Audio Production Competition in Ambisonics 2024

In 2024, the Student 3D Audio Competition is taking place for the eighth year in a row. Again, we are expecting many submissions of high quality, elaborate, peppered with trend-setting ideas. The finals and award ceremony take place on the 8th of November 2024 in the IEM in Graz. They will be streamed into the internet. In addition, you can attend one of the many live breakout sessions or public hearings locally in many cities where you can enjoy the original 3D audio quality of the audio productions.
As last year, the nominated pieces of categiry 1 will be already presented as part of the ORF musikprotokoll.

32 Submissions from 12 Countries

The call for the eighth 3D competition in Ambisonics for students has ended. Now the work of the jurors begins to evaluate the submissions. Once again, many students have taken part with some quite extraordinary productions. There were 32 submissions in total, produced by students from 12 countries. It is particularly pleasing that combined teams from several countries were also found. The nominees will be announced towards the end of September.

Traditionally, the award ceremony takes place on November 8 in Graz and is broadcast live on the Internet. We also organize so-called public viewing hubs, i.e. meetings where you can watch the finals in original quality in the company of other 3D audio enthusiasts. Three locations in Hamburg, Leipzig and Düsseldorf have already been found.
