General Meeting 2024
On Saturday, November 23, the 2024 VDT General Assembly took place. This time, unfortunately, some of the registered participants were unable to attend at very short notice, so we met with a manageable group of 19 members in Stuttgart in a hybrid meeting room of the SWR. Another 22 members were connected online.
SWR had provided us with a meeting room with excellent technical equipment. Both in the room itself and at the PCs, we were able to listen attentively and take part in the discussions. A big thank you to SWR and especially to Max Federhofer, who organized the meeting on site!
The usual items were on the agenda. Above all, it was about providing information on what the Bildungswerk, the regional groups, the departments and, of course, the Executive Board had worked on and offered in the last twelve months since the last AGM. The scope was considerable: 29 regional group meetings, 12 Board meetings, 9 speaker events, 5 magazine issues, 4 participations at trade fairs and congresses, two meetings of the Extended Board, regional group elections, the founding of fHU e. V., cooperation around the 3D competition and the successful completion of our first Erasmus+ funding project ESSENCE - the year 2024 was certainly one of the most active in the history of the VDT.
Another focus was on the elements required by association law, such as discussing the cash report, approving the actions of the Executive Board and appointing the auditors. As has been customary in previous years, the 2024 annual report was completed shortly beforehand and made available to all members for download in MyVDT in preparation for the AGM. The annual report provides a comprehensive overview of the VDT's activities and all events in 2024. The PDF is available to you all in MyVDT under Download/Miscellaneous. A shortened version without the financial pages will soon be linked again on the homepage under “About us” and will then also be accessible without logging in.
The final part of the MV, at least for all those who were there, was an exciting tour of the technically interesting premises of SWR: it began in the television studios and control rooms, where we were able to watch the preparations for the sports program in the news studio and next to the main stage. Then we went to SWR1 with the final conference of the 1st German Soccer League and finally to the radio play studios. A big thank you to Hubert Eiter and Volker Neumann, who led the tour.
