Membership of the VDT
The VDT is a professional association. VDT members are audio professionals from all age groups and sectors, i.e. sound recording, radio, movie production, broadcast, game audio, multimedia, stage and the event industry, as well as representatives from the media, equipment industry, research, development and teaching.
An application for ordinary membership can be made Professionals within the meaning of the association's statutes from the aforementioned fields of activity, students of subject-related university and college degree programs and trainees with a focus on audio.
Membership can be terminated after two years at the earliest. class="uk-link-text" Association statutes.
In addition to ordinary members, there are also class="uk-link-text" supporting members and honorary members.
E-mail address
The individual e-mail address serves several purposes: The member uses it to log into the member area of our website and then has access to additional data, downloads and their own member profile. It is also used for communication between the office, volunteers and members. It enables participation in our digital elections.
It is mandatory to enter an e-mail address. It can be changed at any time in the member profile.

Your data is safe with us. Our membership administration is hosted in Switzerland and meets high data security standards.

In order to be able to assess what may be of interest to you, we ask you to give us a little information about your occupation. This will help us to keep the association statistics up to date so that we can continue to develop.
Departments
Ten departments within the VDT deal with a wide variety of specialist areas. Please subscribe to one or more departments that are in your area of interest so that we can inform you about activities, events or other news from the selected specialist areas. You can add or remove sections at any time in your MyVDT profile.

Membership fees for ordinary members 2024

SEPA direct debit
We generally collect membership fees once a year in the first quarter by SEPA direct debit. Members will be informed individually two weeks in advance. Any chargeback fees charged by the bank in the event of non-payment shall be borne by the payer.
In the event of a membership fee increase, we may collect the difference in a second round. In this case, we will also inform you individually two weeks before the collection date.
Bank details
We collect the membership fees by SEPA direct debit in order to keep the administrative effort to a minimum. Therefore, every new member must provide us with an IBAN bank account and give us permission to collect the membership fees from this account.
Details "BIC " and "name of bank " are only mandatory for foreign accounts.
If you have an account with a foreign bank that does not offer SEPA Direct Debit, we will contact you when we process your membership application.
Data protection
I agree to the electronic transmission, storage and processing of my personal data provided here (in particular the contact details) by the VDT and third parties commissioned by the VDT (e.g. the responsible regional group management or the management of the selected departments) in accordance with the VDT's privacy policy
Why do I have to provide guarantors?
The VDT is a professional association. We want our membership to consist of professionals or prospective professionals and not hobbyists. That's why we check which sector of the industry each new member works in.
The easiest way to prove your professionalism is to nominate two guarantors. They must have been full members of the VDT for at least two years.
