There have been changes in the executive team of the VDT Film and Television Department: Urs Wihler, the former head of the department, is handing over his responsibilities to André Klar, who has been very active in the division since 2020. Many thanks Urs for your years of dedication! The department is also receiving additional support from Ray Zuber, who is also a member of the Regional Group executive team in Cologne. Ray works as a freelance sound designer and mixing engineer for various television and online formats. We are also pleased to welcome Hendrik Henkemeier from the Education & Training Department to our team. As a freelance film sound engineer with his own studio in Dortmund, he offers on-set location recording, sound design, and Foley.

According to André, the department plans to shift its focus in the future: “We will become more politically active.” One of the goals, for example, is to develop a use case in collaboration with the bvft to standardize the loudness of feature films in Germany. The generational shift within the team is also important in order to “bring the current zeitgeist into the department.”
